We are seeking a dedicated and professional Registered Nurse (RN) for a contract position in Surgical services at a leading acute-care hospital in Peoria, IL. As a vital member of the healthcare team, you will assume responsibility for a group of patients, providing high-quality care through the nursing process, utilizing current trends, technology, and resources within the institution's philosophy.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform all responsibilities and duties required by the unit specific to the scope of service.
• Implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure integration of information for use by the healthcare team.
• Complete initial assessments upon patient admission and develop appropriate plans of care in accordance with unit standards based on patient and family needs.
• Implement plans of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
• Modify plans of care based on continuous evaluation.
• Take responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents.
• Communicate directly and privately with others when necessary to resolve issues.
• Offer constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers and confer with colleagues to expand knowledge base.
• Identify personal learning needs and take initiative to begin appropriate solutions.
• Fulfill all requirements of departmental competencies.
