Key Responsibilities of the Sterile Processing Technician- Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment
- Prepare and package instruments for sterilization
- Inspect instruments for any damage or contamination
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes
- Adhere to all health and safety protocols in the sterile processing department
Requirements of the Sterile Processing Technician- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician
- Experience in sterile processing or a related field
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and standards
- Current state licensure if required
