Description

Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 8 hours (23:00 - 07:30) Experience: 2 years of experience required License: Not specified Certifications: CBSPD and/or HSPA Must-Have: Level 1 Trauma experience required Description: The Sterile Processing Technician will work a night shift from 11 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday, with a holiday rotation. Weekend rotation may be required. The technician may float within the scope to meet facility needs. Experience in sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping is required. Preferred experience includes neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedic, transplant, and gynecological cases. National certifications such as CBSPD and/or HSPA are required. BLS certification is not required. Travelers should be aware that they may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season. Candidates must provide all requested time off at the time of submission. No requests for time off will be accepted after the contract is signed. Candidates must have the ability to complete pre-start compliance on time for the proposed start date. Duties include maintaining proper sterilization techniques, reprocessing surgical instruments, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The role may involve using high-level disinfection methods and immediate-use steam sterilization techniques. Candidates will be responsible for properly selecting wrapping materials and assembling surgical trays. This position may require flexibility to float to other facilities as needed. Candidates must have a strong focus on detail and follow protocols for quality assurance in sterile processing.
