Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a Medicine Step Down unit requiring a compact or Oklahoma RN license and prior Med/Surg and Stepdown experience.

Details

  • Hospital-based Medicine Step Down unit
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 48 hours per week, 4 days per week
  • Care for patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex

Requirements

  • Active RN license issued by Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
  • Current BLS certification from AHA
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
  • Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
  • Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and techniques
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills

Additional Information

  • Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents nursing interventions and treatment responses
  • Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
  • Monitors physiological data and intervenes as needed
  • Administers medications and manages IV infusions and blood products
  • Educates patients and families on care plans and discharge procedures
  • Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
  • Full DOB and SSN required for consideration
  • Facility enforces strict compliance and credentialing deadlines with no start date flexibility
  • 30-day written notice required for early cancellation of assignment
  • Extensions limited to one time for a total of 26 weeks, with a required 6-month separation before reapplying
