Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Stepdown night shift position requiring 1 year of experience and an active or compact RN license.

Details

  • Medicine Stepdown unit within a hospital setting
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
  • Cares for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex

Requirements

  • Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
  • Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Full DOB and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents responses to nursing interventions and treatments
  • Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
  • Obtains and monitors physiological data, intervening as necessary
  • Administers medications and manages IV infusions and blood products
  • Communicates care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
  • Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
  • Returning workers may extend once up to a total of 26 weeks, requiring a 6-month separation before reapplying
  • Facility enforces strict credentialing and compliance deadlines, with no flexibility on start dates
  • 30-day written notice required for early cancellation or ending of an assignment
