Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg/Nephrology position requiring prior Med/Surg and Stepdown experience and an OK or compact RN license.

Details

  • Medicine/Nephrology unit in a hospital setting
  • Cares for patients with a range of health conditions from simple to complex, including nephrology and dialysis patients
  • Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
  • 36 hours per week

Requirements

  • Active RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
  • Current BLS certification from AHA
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
  • Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
  • Charge nurse experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with central line care and management, foley catheter care, and end-of-life care
  • Knowledge of proper dialysis site care, including avoiding use of HD catheters or fistulas for blood draws
  • Full date of birth and Social Security number required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provides nursing care to an assigned group of patients, including assessment, intervention, and documentation of patient responses
  • Assists physicians with examinations, minor diagnostic procedures, and treatments
  • Administers medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
  • Communicates care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
  • Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
  • Credentialing and compliance deadlines are strictly enforced with no flexibility for start date delays
  • 30-day written notice required for early cancellation or termination of assignment
  • Returning workers limited to one extension up to a total of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
