Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Stepdown position requiring Med/Surg Stepdown experience and OK or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Work in the Med Specialty Step Down unit of a hospital setting
  • Cares for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
  • Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week

Requirements

  • Active OK or multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification issued by AHA required
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience required
  • Med/Surg Stepdown experience required
  • ICU experience preferred
  • Tracheostomy care experience required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
  • Full DOB and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents nursing interventions and treatment responses
  • Assists physicians with examinations, minor diagnostic procedures, and treatments
  • Administers medications and monitors IV infusions and blood products
  • Communicates care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
  • Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
  • Student precepting required
  • Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
  • Credentialing and compliance deadlines are strictly enforced with no push starts allowed
  • Travelers may extend only once for a total of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
  • 30-day written notice required to cancel or end an assignment early
