Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Stepdown RN with telemetry expertise and teaching hospital background for a 13-week assignment in California.

Details

• Work in a Stepdown/PCU/DOU/IMC unit within an academic medical center
• Variable 12-hour shifts, both day (7:00-19:30) and night (19:00-7:30)
• Must be able to float to other facilities within a 75+ mile radius as needed
• Epic charting system required
• Trach care and cardiac rhythm recognition responsibilities

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BSN required
• AHA BLS certification required
• ACLS and PCCN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, with stepdown ICU/TCU/PCU experience preferred over med/surg telemetry
• CIWA and EKG course or cardiac rhythm recognition experience required
• Trach care expertise required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide care for patients requiring cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP and high flow nasal cannula
• Manage central, PICC, and peripheral lines along with arterial line management
• Administer IV insulin protocols and manage substance withdrawal cases
• Perform wound care and manage surgical drains
• Any prior employment history with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates, units, and manager names for a rehire eligibility check
• All requested time off must be disclosed and approved at the time of offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract and no time off allowed within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Travel pairs allowed but generally not placed on the same unit; married couples may not work on the same unit
