Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Step Down Unit in Omaha, Nebraska. Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, minimum 2 years of nursing experience, BLS (American Heart Association) certification, ACLS certification, and charge nurse experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in step down units is highly preferred.
- Float: Float rotation may be required; float assignments remain at the same level of care.
- Orientation: Two days of unit orientation will be provided.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS are required at the time of submittal.
- Additional Information:
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) and Oncology Nursing Society (ONS/ONCC) certifications are current preferred but not mandatory.
- The primary patient population consists of adult patients requiring step-down care, with responsibilities including titrating certain drips such as Insulin and Cardizem.
- Respiratory equipment encountered may include high-flow oxygen devices, BiPAP, or ventilators.
- EMR system: Epic.
- Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps and Lyko lifts in even-numbered rooms.
- Support staff comprises nursing assistants, case managers, social workers, educators, and dietitians.
- The unit emphasizes excellent patient experience through hourly rounding and bedside shift reports.
