Job Summary
The healthcare provider is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Step Down Care at a facility located within a 50-mile radius of the community. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to adult patients with diverse diagnoses, including cardiac, vascular, renal, and respiratory conditions, in an acute care setting. The RN will work day shifts with a 12-hour schedule, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes through teamwork and clinical expertise.
Job Details
- Certifications and Qualifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale); must be competent in Arterial Lines; minimum 2 years of experience required; location must be within 50 miles; valid Driver's license required at submission.
- Shift: Days, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care, manage titratable drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Insulin, read and interpret telehealth monitor strips, troubleshoot high flow equipment, participate in patient and family communication, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- Additional Information: Open book exam on skills learned during orientation, must achieve a 90% passing score; float rotation may be required to Medical-Surgical or ICU units to accommodate patient acuity; no blocked scheduling unless weekends only; flexible and adaptable team player preferred; cultural competence in serving Hispanic and Somali populations; Minimum six-month contract starting 10/26/2026 through 02/08/2027.
