Job Summary:
Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) position located in an acute care setting. The role involves managing patients with complex medical issues such as sepsis, stroke, myocardial infarction, respiratory failure, and other critical conditions, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The position requires adherence to hospital policies and the ability to perform comprehensive patient care during a 12-hour night shift.

Job Details:

  • Shift: 12-hour night shifts, scheduled from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, minimum of 2 years of recent step down or critical care experience, certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with patients requiring titratable drips such as Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, and insulin. Knowledge of electronic vital sign monitors and ability to interpret telemetry strips.
  • Additional Information:
    • Must be willing to float to Med/Surg, Inpatient Rehabilitation, or Skilled Care units as needed.
    • RN must read and interpret telemonitor strips.
    • Dress code is navy blue scrubs.
    • Orientation includes one week of classroom training followed by two 12-hour shifts on the unit.
    • Transition to virtual nursing in June will increase the nurse-to-patient ratio to 1:6, with each nurse assigned a CNA.
    • Candidates must have a valid Drivers license and comply with radius rule of 50 miles.
    • RTO requests of 7 or fewer days are accepted upfront; additional RTO requests will not be approved.
