Job Summary:
Step Down Unit Nurse Specialist / Specialty in a 30-bed step-down unit. This position involves managing patients requiring close monitoring and care, with experience in high-acuity scenarios such as CABG, AVR, MVR procedures, vascular, thoracic surgeries, and complex cardiac and vascular conditions. The assignment is located in a clinical setting where the focus is on providing exceptional patient care in a dynamic critical care environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts (12 hours) with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license verified through Nursys, current professional resume, profile, and two professional references; completion of the Ascension Skills Checklist.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with HFNC, BIPAP, stable GTT management, and familiarity with post-operative cardiac and vascular patient care, including unit experience in a step-down or critical care environment.
  • Additional Information: The role involves float responsibilities across critical care service lines within a 30-bed step-down unit, providing patient care for complex cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery cases. The position is governed by hospital standards and protocols, including SOPs and clinical guidelines.
