Job Summary:
The healthcare professional opportunity is located within a Step Down Unit in Waco, Texas. This role involves providing care across a 30-bed intermediate care setting, with responsibilities spanning critical care service line functions. Job Details:
- Shift Schedule: Days, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certification as a registered nurse, valid licensure to practice in Texas, with at least 1 year of clinical experience in step down or similar units.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with HFNC (High-Flow Nasal Cannula), BIPAP (Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure), and management of stable glycemic trends. Knowledge in post-cardiac surgery care including CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting), AVR (Aortic Valve Replacement), and MVR (Mitral Valve Replacement). Experience with vascular repairs, lobectomy, CEA (Carotid Endarterectomy), and managing patients with conditions such as NSTEMI (Non-ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction), STEMI (ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction), ACS (Acute Coronary Syndrome), and sepsis.
- Additional Information: The role requires current knowledge of post-DKA (Diabetic Ketoacidosis) management, respiratory failure, and post-trauma care including pacemaker management and patient stabilization. The unit functions as a floating resource within the critical care service line, serving as a bridge between intensive and general care settings.
