Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown ICU) RN for a night shift assignment requiring critical care experience with trach, vent, and drip management.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown ICU) / Telemetry floor within a hospital setting
• Patient population is 50% Medical / 50% Telemetry, adults only
• Typical patient ratio is 4-6:1
• Night shift, 4x12 schedule, 7p-7a
• Weekend work required as needed, standard expectation of every other full weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required upon request per facility needs
• Uses standard nursing equipment on a telemetry unit
• EPIC EMR system used

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO or Compact) required at time of consideration
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and EKG Interpretation
• Minimum 1+ years of recent Critical Care experience required
• Must have experience managing trachs, vents, and drips
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)
• No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
• Certifications must not expire within first 30 days of assignment unless renewal documentation is provided

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing support for a 24x7 Stepdown ICU environment
• Requires strong communication skills and a team-oriented, patient-focused approach
• Night shift staff orient on day shift and must be available the entire orientation week
• Black scrubs required
• Flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1-April 1, with only facility-approved exemptions accepted
• Must work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day)
• Up to 5 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week period, to be made up during the assignment
• Local candidates accepted, though local candidates are subject to a restriction of 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside a 50-mile radius
