Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Step Down float pool position requiring CA RN licensure and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Step down unit within a system-wide float pool across five hospitals
  • Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM (3x12 schedules also considered)
  • Required to float to like or lower-acuity units across the organization, excluding the ED
  • Scheduled to work 4 weekend shifts within each 4-week cycle
  • Required to work at least one holiday, including the holiday weekend

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
  • Current AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications required, no pending certifications accepted
  • Minimum 1 year of total travel nursing experience required (LVNs excluded)
  • At least 6 months of continuous travel experience immediately preceding consideration
  • 1.5 years of continuous experience in the specialty with no breaks, unless floating or demonstrating equivalent ratio experience
  • EPIC or combined EPIC/Cerner experience required within the last 6 months
  • One supervisory-level professional reference required

Additional Information

  • Float pool role supporting multiple units and hospitals within the health system
  • No first-time travelers considered for this position
  • Previous travelers and permanent staff eligible to reapply after a 1-year break
  • Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted, no additional requests after submission
  • Not open to local candidates within a 100-mile radius, except LVNs/LPNs
  • Candidates who have been on assignment in San Diego for 9+ months are considered local and ineligible
