Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit – Spokane, WA 99204

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Spokane, Washington

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00), every other weekend required. 13-week assignment with 12 hours of orientation. Patient ratios of 1:4-5.

Highlights:

  • Work in a 629-bed short-term acute care teaching facility with Level II Trauma Center designation
  • 42-bed Progressive Care/Step-Down unit caring for adults and geriatric patients
  • Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
  • Free parking and scrubs of any color permitted for RNs
  • Opportunity to work with cardiac drip patients requiring titration and management
  • Flexibility to choose either Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday off

Requirements:

  • Active RN license (Compact license accepted)
  • Minimum 1 year of Step-Down or PCU nursing experience required
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Demonstrated experience with patient ratios of 4-5 patients
  • Essential skill: Cardiac drip titration and management experience (required)
  • Proficiency in cardiac telemetry, vasoactive drip management, central line care, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, and other critical step-down competencies
  • Willingness to float to telemetry or medical-surgical floors when overstaffed
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays during assignment period
