Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown unit position requiring recent bedside experience and vasopressor titration skills on night shift.

Details

Acute care hospital Step Down unit
Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
Patient ratio of 1:4
Weekend requirement of 2 shifts every other weekend
No on-call responsibilities
Float to lower acuity floors within scope as needed
Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

Active MO or compact RN license required
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Must have worked at the bedside within the last 6 months
ICU or high acuity stepdown experience required due to high unit acuity
Recent travel experience within the last 6 months required
Skilled in titrating vasopressors, sedation medications, and insulin drips
Experience managing trach vents, arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes
Trauma Level II experience required
Epic charting experience preferred

Additional Information

Care for high-acuity stepdown patients including cardiac, neuro, renal, and post-surgical cases
Manage advanced interventions such as vasopressor titration, ventilator care, and chest tube management
Navy scrub color required
Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
Standard travelers may stay for an 18-month period and must take a 3-month break afterward
No RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
