Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Stepdown unit position requiring at least 1-2 years of strong acute care Stepdown/PCU experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Step down unit within a short term acute care hospital
• Patient ratios: 1:4 on days, 1:5 on nights, and 1:4-5 on weekends
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend required
• On-call requirement of up to 3 shifts of 12 hours
• No floating required within scope
• Uses Nihon Kohden cardiac monitors/telemetry and Welch Allyn bedside vitals machines
• Utilizes HiFlow/CPAP/BiPAP equipment
• Must be able to work Med/Surg, SCU, and occasionally care for pediatric patients
• Epic/Excellian EMR

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required
• BLS certification required (ACLS preferred)
• Minimum 1-2 years of strong acute care Stepdown/PCU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required unless candidate has extensive hospital background
• Epic/Excellian charting experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Ventilator management experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC line management, and blood product administration preferred
• Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management and tracheostomy care preferred
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management experience preferred

Additional Information

• Level 4 Trauma facility with 32 total staffed beds
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Candidates may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital if needed
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• Returning travelers must have been gone at least 3 months since their last shift worked as perm staff or per diem
• RTO should not exceed 5 days
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
