Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Stepdown RN for a night shift assignment requiring telemetry and IV start skills with a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Stepdown/CPU unit of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Cardiac telemetry and MS/Tele patient population, including CVA and gastrointestinal cases
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Cerner EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required, or proof that licensure process is underway
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 3+ years of recent Stepdown experience required
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Skilled in telemetry monitoring, IV starts, and IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, oxygen administration, and airway management
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration not required)
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response/code team activation
• Driver's license and updated immunization records required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to cardiac telemetry and stepdown-level patients
• Royal blue scrubs required (not provided)
• Holiday coverage required with minimal RTO, especially around holidays
• Candidates residing 31-50 miles from the facility will be accepted at the local rate
• Candidates living less than 30 miles from the facility will not be accepted
• Up to 8 hours of non-billable orientation modules required prior to start, completed through HealthStream
