Description

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring GA or compact RN license and 3+ years of recent Stepdown experience.

Details

• Stepdown unit setting with cardiac telemetry and MS/Tele patient populations
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Uses Cerner EMR

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required (will not hire with pending license unless proof of process is underway)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 3+ years of recent Stepdown experience required
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Skilled in telemetry monitoring, IV starts, and IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care/management
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, PCA, and heparin protocols
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and use of rapid response/code teams
• Experience with wound care, insulin protocols, and renal failure management
• Driver's license copy required for residence verification
• Royal blue scrubs required (not provided)

Additional Information

• Provide stepdown-level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, respiratory management, and IV therapy
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Minimal RTO accepted, especially around holidays
• Local candidates residing 31-50 miles from the facility accepted at local rate
• Candidates living less than 30 miles from the facility are not accepted
• Up to 8 hours of non-billable pre-start training modules required via HealthStream
