Description

American Traveler is hiring a Step Down RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring 2+ years of experience, Epic proficiency, and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Step Down unit setting with a 1:5 patient ratio
  • Day shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts (6:45 AM-7:15 PM)
  • Weekend rotation required every two weeks
  • Floating to other units/campuses required based on census needs, limited to qualified competencies
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active RN license (TN or compact) currently in hand
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a similar unit
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Care for cardiac telemetry, medical-surgical telemetry, and progressive care/stepdown patients
  • Skills include IV therapy, central/peripheral line management, blood product administration, and cardiac monitoring
  • Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response activation, and heparin protocols required
  • Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance training required
  • Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
  • No first-time travelers will be considered for this position
  • Must be located more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible, with reduced eligibility for 90-99.9 miles depending on shift and specialty exceptions
