Description

American Traveler is hiring a Step Down RN for a 13-week night shift contract requiring 2+ years of experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

Details

  • Step Down unit within a hospital setting
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15
  • Weekend rotation required every two weeks
  • Patient ratio of 1:5
  • Floating to other qualified units or campuses may be required based on census needs

Requirements

  • Active RN license (TN or compact) required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Step Down or related unit experience
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, blood product administration, and telemetry monitoring
  • Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (without titration)
  • Experience with non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care for cardiac, telemetry, and progressive care patients
  • Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed
  • Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance training required
  • Pre-assignment testing and training modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
  • Must maintain more than 100 miles distance from all facilities within the health system to qualify for full travel eligibility
  • Night shift travelers in this specialty must reside at least 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
