Description

American Traveler is hiring a Step Down RN with 2+ years of recent experience and EPIC EMR proficiency for a 13-week day shift assignment.

Details

  • Step Down unit within a hospital setting
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
  • Required to work a weekend shift every 2 weeks
  • Patient ratio of 1:5
  • Floating to other units/campuses required based on census needs, limited to competencies already demonstrated

Requirements

  • Active TN or compact RN license required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required (CPI, OCN, and ONS/ONCC preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent EPIC EMR experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Care for patients requiring cardiac and telemetry monitoring, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Administer and manage IV therapy, central/peripheral lines, and blood products
  • Provide respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, tracheostomy care, and ABG interpretation
  • Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
  • Utilize rapid response/code team protocols as needed
  • Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance training required
  • Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
  • Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible, with reduced eligibility for distances between 90-100 miles
