Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a MedSurg/Stepdown position requiring stepdown/PCU experience and comfort with frequent floating.

Details

  • Work in a 22-bed adult MedSurg Oncology unit, frequently floating to Stepdown and MS/Tele units
  • Stepdown ratios of 1:4-5 and MedSurg ratios of 1:5-6
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
  • Weekday schedule with every other weekend and floating as needed
  • Holiday coverage required as indicated
  • Uses Meditech EMR

Requirements

  • Active SC or compact RN license required
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years med surg experience required
  • Stepdown/PCU experience required due to frequent floating
  • IV start skills required
  • Meditech charting experience preferred but not required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care across MedSurg, Stepdown, and Telemetry patient populations
  • Must be comfortable floating frequently within the hospital, in rotation with staff and per facility floating policies
  • Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white required
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Facility will not accept candidates with license or background check hits
  • Former employees must have been gone at least 1 year and in good standing at time of departure
  • RTO must be approved prior to assignment start with minimal to no time off requested, especially in the first weeks
