Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat pediatric patients (neonate to adolescent) with communication and swallowing disorders/delays, applying knowledge of normal growth and age-appropriate care
- Utilize pediatric-based behavior management strategies and match diagnostic/therapeutic interventions to the age and disability of each patient
- Establish individualized treatment plans with age-appropriate goals and target timeframes, developed collaboratively with patients' families
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in accordance with applicable policies and procedures
- Assess and evaluate recommended needs for equipment and supplies
- Assist in the supervision and monitoring of speech-language pathology students
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university
- Active Arizona Department of Health Services license (must be obtained prior to start date)
- Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance card (must be obtained prior to start date)
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- ASHA certification or currently in Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with infant feeding in a clinical setting
- ICU experience, preferably within a pediatric or neonatal environment
- Prior pediatric clinical experience
