Key Responsibilities

• Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders; develop and adjust individualized plans of care in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice standards.
• Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to guide clinical interventions and evaluate treatment outcomes, modifying services and making referrals as appropriate.
• Accurately document all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system, including treatment minutes and comprehensive discharge summaries.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding speech and language disorders.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and interdisciplinary health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans; participate in patient care conferences, utilization review, and rehabilitation meetings.
• Supervise and support Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or student Speech-Language Pathologists as needed; adhere to ASHA and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics standards.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of SLP experience required; new graduates considered with Level II clinical experience (Level I observation only not accepted).
• Long-term care (LTC) or rehabilitation setting experience required.
• Active Missouri State SLP License required.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA required.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 3 or more years of experience holding an active CCC-SLP certification.
• Familiarity with group therapy practices in a long-term care or rehabilitation environment.
