Description:
Performs the essential duties and primary functions of a Speech/Language Pathologist.
Responsibilities include evaluating patients, developing goals and treatment plans, and administering speech therapy treatments.
Documentation of treatment and communication with physicians and other health care workers is required.
Responsible for promoting teamwork with personnel from other departments.
Must solve practical problems while dealing with a variety of written and oral instructions.
Administers speech therapy modalities, procedures, and protocols according to department guidelines.
Provides accurate, timely, and complete documentation.
Supports and practices in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
Assumes responsibility for professional development.
A Bachelor's degree is required, and a Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program is mandatory.
Must meet current legal requirements of licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
Weekend and on-call work is required.
Preferences include experience with diverse patient diagnoses and special procedures related to speech and language therapy.
Experience with specific communication tools and rehabilitation strategies is beneficial.
