Description:
The Speech Language Pathologist 1 plans and administers speech language pathology services.
This includes evaluation, treatment, and education programs for patients.
The goal is to restore speech, language, and swallowing abilities.
Essential functions include:
Evaluating, treating, and monitoring patients within the speech pathology treatment plan.
Modifying therapy programs and goals as needed.
Performing thorough and concise clinical documentation in a timely manner.
Entering charges accurately and understanding reimbursement related to the practice setting.
Communicating effectively with patients, families, coworkers, and members of the medical care team.
Providing education to patients, families, and staff.
Supervising students and volunteers, as well as clinical fellows following supervision guidelines.
Advancing clinical skills through ongoing education, literature review, and implementation of evidence-based practice is essential.
Sharing knowledge to help develop the clinical skills of colleagues is also important.
Adhering to organizational, national, and state regulatory guidelines is required.
Maintaining awareness of system goals and aligning individual goals with work activities is crucial.
Key success factors include proficiency in computer knowledge.
Must operate multiple computer systems and standard rehabilitation equipment.
High attention to detail is necessary in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining a high level of productivity is expected.
