Responsible for assessments and treatments of patients with speech and language disorders, including development, mental, and organic involvement according to physicians orders. Responsible to Rehab Program Manager, DOO or designated Clinical Manager. State Specific-DESCRIPTION -Wisconsin State Specific: Therapeutic service means physical, occupational, speech or other therapy, medical social services, home health aide service, or any other medically oriented service except skilled nursing care. Therapy Services (b) The qualified therapist duties include: (1) Providing treatment as ordered by the attending physician, dentist or podiatrist. Speech Pathologist (2) Assisting the physician in evaluating level of function. (3) Assisting in developing and updating the plan of treatment. (4) Observing, recording and reporting information on the patient's condition to the attending physician and in the patient's health record. (5) Advising, consulting and, when appropriate, instructing family and other agency personnel, in patient's therapy program. (6) Teaching and supervising other health personnel when appropriate. (7) Evaluating the home environment and making appropriate recommendation. (8) Participating in in-service education programs. Virginia State Specific: 1. Assessing client needs or admission for service as appropriate; 2. Implementing a medical plan of care and revising as necessary; 3. Initiating appropriate preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative techniques according to the medial plan of care; 4. Educating the client and family regarding treatment modalities and use of equipment and devices; 5. Providing consultation to other health care professional; 6. Communicating with the physician and other health care professionals regarding changes in the client?s needs; 7. Supervising therapy assistants and home attendants as appropriate; and 8. Preparing clinical notes. -Wisconsin State Specific: HFS 133.15 Therapy Services: 1. Provision of Services: Speech Therapy services provided directly by the home health agency or arranged for under s. HFS 133.19, shall be given in accordance with the plan of care developed under s. HFS 133.20. Individuals providing these services shall perform the duties under s. HFS 133.14 (2) (a), (c), (f), (h) and (i). 2. Speech therapy. If offered, speech therapy shall be provided by a speech pathologist or audiologist. DEGREE OF TRAVEL Home visits. Periodic office meetings. Must have reliable transportation, current driver?s license, and agency-required liability insurance.' '1. Master?s degree with a major in speech pathology or audiology. 2. Current and unencumbered license to practice speech pathology specific to that state the employee is assigned to work by the Company. 3. Meets the education and experience requirements for a Certificate of Clinical Competence (in speech pathology or audiology) granted by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association; or Meets the educational requirements for certification and is in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification. 4. 2-3 years of experience in speech pathology preferred. 5. Current CPR certification. 6. Must be familiar with general use and functions of the computer, such as, user names and password concepts; internet; e-mail; navigation of computer desktop, including starting programs, using files, and windows, effectively use navigation buttons and tool bars; ability to self-manage online HR services and online training programs. State Specific-QUALIFICATIONS -Delaware State Specific: Speech/Language Pathologist means an individual who is currently licensed pursuant to 24 Del.C. Ch. 37 and who offers the services to the public under any title or description of services incorporating the words ''speech/language pathologist,'' ''speech pathologist,'' ''language pathologist,'' ''speech and/or language therapist,'' ''speech and/or language correctionist,'' ''speech and/or language clinician,'' ''voice therapist,'' ''communicologist,'' ''aphasiologist'' or any other similar title or description of service. -Kansas State Specific: ''Speech therapist'' means a person who is licensed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment as a speech-language pathologist.'' -Nevada State Specific: NAC 449.788 Services to patients. 2. Services must be supplied only by qualified personnel and under the supervision of a physician licensed to practice in this State. Qualifications include licensure, registration, certification or their equivalent, as required by state or federal law, for The speech therapist must hold a certificate from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or the equivalent thereof. -Wisconsin State Specific: HFS 133.02 Definition: Speech pathologist means a person who possess a certificate of clinical competence from the American speech and hearing association, or has completed the equivalent educational requirements and work experience necessary for such a certificate, or who will have completed the academic program and be in the process of accumulating the supervised work experience required to qualify for such a certificate before employment by the home health agency.
