Job Opportunity – Speech-Language Pathologist – Topeka, KS 66606

Start Date: September 30, 2026

Location: Topeka, Kansas

Schedule: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (08:00 - 16:30). 45-minute treatment sessions with a daily caseload of 10-14 patients across inpatient rehabilitation and acute care settings. Average daily census on the 18-bed rehabilitation unit is 8-9 patients.

  • Work with adult and geriatric patient populations experiencing swallowing, language, and cognitive deficits
  • Comprehensive caseload including evaluations and treatments for dysphagia, communication disorders, and cognitive impairments
  • First-time travelers welcome with at least one year of experience
  • 24-hour orientation with one pre-approved time off period available
  • 13-week assignment with opportunity to make a meaningful impact in patient rehabilitation
Requirements:
  • Valid Kansas Speech-Language Pathology license (must be in hand at time of submission; national certification not required)
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Minimum one year of SLP experience
  • Experience with Epic charting system required
  • Proficiency in acute care, dysphagia management, bedside swallow evaluations, modified barium swallow studies, and patient/family education
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the location
