Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Elementary School | Contract

Location: 340 Alspaugh Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27105
Contract: September 28, 2026 – June 20, 2027
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 3:45 PM
Hours: 35 hours/week
Position Type: Contract

Position Overview

The SLP will work as part of an educational team to provide speech and language evaluations, diagnostics, and services to elementary students. The caseload includes approximately 20 specialized classroom students across Learning Support, High Functioning Autistic Support, and Intensive Learning Support, along with 5 students receiving consultative services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct educational speech and language evaluations and screenings.

  • Perform formal and informal assessments, including classroom observations, curriculum-based assessments, and teacher/parent conferences.

  • Provide individual and group speech-language services based on evaluations and IEPs.

  • Participate as a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT).

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, district staff, and outside agencies.

  • Participate in parent, school, and agency conferences.

  • Identify students' educational needs and recommend appropriate strategies and programming.

  • Provide in-service presentations related to speech and language services when requested.

  • Maintain effective communication and documentation.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.
