Job Summary:
Speech Language Pathologist Inpatient position in Jamestown, North Dakota. This role involves assessing and treating communication and swallowing disorders for patients across all age groups, including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The specialist will develop and implement individualized therapy programs, collaborate with other healthcare professionals, and conduct assessments such as swallow evaluations and video fluoroscopy.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch, totaling 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid speech-language pathology license, ASHA Certification (CCC), North Dakota state licensure, BLS certification, minimum of 1 year of experience in inpatient settings, ability to perform swallow assessments and video fluoroscopy, proficiency with electronic medical records (EPIC, TIMS).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with speech and language disorders including aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, dysphagia, and cognitive/linguistic deficits.
  • Additional Information: Works collaboratively with physical therapy, occupational therapy, and audiology teams. The onboarding process includes a one-week orientation. The unit is a 25-bed critical access hospital, primarily providing outpatient services with occasional inpatient coverage and home health as needed. The department operates with a lone staff for this role, with float to other units as required.
