Description

American Traveler is hiring a Special Procedures Technologist with recent IR/Hybrid OR experience for a 13-week contract requiring an active SC or compact radiography license.

Details

  • Special Procedures/Vascular Interventional Radiology department
  • Monday-Friday schedule, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM or 7:30 AM-4:00 PM
  • On-call one week every 4th week
  • Will float to sister hospital nearby as needed
  • 13-week contract, 40 hours per week
  • Uses Cerner for charting

Requirements

  • 2 years experience as a radiologic technologist or at least 1 year of experience in Special Procedures/Vascular Interventional Radiology
  • Recent IR/Hybrid OR experience required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Allied Health Professionals
  • ARRT Radiography (R) Certification required
  • BLS through the American Heart Association required
  • South Carolina Radiation Quality Standard Association (SCRQSA) Radiographer Certification required
  • Active SC or compact license required if applicable
  • AART VI Radiology Certification and completion of an AART accredited Vascular Interventional Radiology Program preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to perform and teach Special Procedures exams

Additional Information

  • Perform Special Procedures exams under medical supervision of certified radiologists, assisting on procedures as needed
  • Responsible for supervision and clinical education of student Radiologic Technologists
  • Ensures correct orders, diagnosis, and clinical history are entered into the computer system
  • Instructs and prepares patients regarding imaging procedures and assists with informed consent
  • Practices radiation safety in accordance with ALARA principles and follows DHEC/TJC guidelines
  • Completes annual mandatory in-services and maintains current licensure requirements
  • Functions as a team player, assisting other imaging team members and departments as needed
  • Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from initial start date, requiring a break before returning to a new assignment
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this role
