Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a SICU/Step Down position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and a CT or compact RN license.

Details

  • Surgical Intensive Care Unit with floating to Step Down as needed
  • 3x12 Night shift schedule (19:00-7:00)
  • Patient ratio of 1:3
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Epic EMR used, experience required
  • Level I Trauma Center, academic teaching hospital setting

Requirements

  • Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience required
  • Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
  • Experience with airway management, IV drips, and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
  • Skills in arterial line management, central line care, ventilator care, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, vasoactive drip titration, and dysrhythmia management/interpretation
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

  • Provide care for ICU and step down patients, including those with complex multisystem conditions
  • Participate in isolation precautions and PPE protocols as required
  • Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
  • COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
  • Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered (local candidates not accepted)
  • Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
  • RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • May be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
