Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity nursing care in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit at a 1:2 patient ratio
• Care for post-operative surgical recovery patients including CABG, valve replacement/repair, and aortic dissection cases
• Manage and monitor patients requiring Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) and Pulmonary Artery Catheter (PA Cath)
• Support transplant recovery patients including liver, heart, lung, kidney, and pancreas recipients
• Perform and monitor Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
• Float to other ICUs and Step-Down Units (SDUs) as required

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in SICU or equivalent high-acuity ICU specialty
• Active Compact or Louisiana RN license in hand at time of submittal
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale Certification (AHA-issued)
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system
• Current NURSYS report (within 4 weeks of submission date) required
• Must meet travel compliance distance requirement (non-local travelers only)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Pulmonary Artery catheters and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps
• Background in cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) care including post-operative cardiac surgery patients
• Experience with solid organ transplant recovery nursing
