• Weekly Hours: 36
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: May float within scope, including stepdown as needed
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,820 - $1,910
• Charting System: Epic preferred

Job Requirements

• Active Virginia RN license or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience required
• Experience in a community hospital setting required
• Level II Trauma Center experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation, arterial line management, blood product administration, ventilator care, and titration of cardiac or vasoactive drips
• Comfort working with high-acuity surgical ICU and critically ill patients
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative critical care environment

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to SICU patients with complex postoperative and critical care needs
• Monitor and manage patients recovering from trauma, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, and other advanced surgical procedures
• Assess, plan, and implement individualized care for patients with conditions such as sepsis, respiratory failure, GI bleed, DKA, and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Interpret cardiac rhythms, manage arterial lines, and administer blood products safely and effectively
• Support ventilated patients, CRRT therapies, and advanced ICU interventions as indicated
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Float to appropriate units when needed while maintaining safe ratios and high standards of care
• Document accurately in the electronic health record and maintain excellent clinical communication across the care team
