Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Level I/II Trauma hospital, requiring MN RRT licensure and 2+ years of experience in adult critical care.

Details

  • Work in the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics department of a Level I and Level II Trauma hospital
  • Evening shift alternating between 4x8 and 5x8 hour schedules, 1430-2300, totaling 72 hours per pay period
  • No weekend shifts required
  • Cares for adult critical care, emergency department, NICU, and pediatric critical care patients
  • Performs transports, medication delivery, and airway management procedures
  • Utilizes ventilator management skills including CPAP, BiPAP, IMV, and high frequency oscillators
  • Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • Trauma Level I and Level II experience required
  • NICU/Pediatric RRT experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • MN RRT license required (pending license accepted if obtained by start date)
  • NBRC RRT certification required
  • BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
  • License required if applicable

Additional Information

  • Perform respiratory therapy duties including ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning
  • Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal transports
  • Manage patients with ARDS, aspiration, COVID, cystic fibrosis, and other respiratory conditions
  • Administer a wide range of respiratory medications including bronchodilators and inhaled steroids
  • Dove gray scrub color required
  • Holiday coverage required as needed by the facility
  • Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted, with none allowed during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
  • All time off requests must be disclosed at the time of consideration
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 9 months before returning as a traveler
  • Travelers must live more than 25 miles from the facility as local candidates are not accepted
  • Must complete required lab work and Livescan fingerprinting within 48 hours of signing, with fingerprinting completed in person in Minnesota prior to the Monday start date
