Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU position requiring RRT certification and at least 1 year of experience in a Level 3 or higher NICU.

Details

• Work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at a hospital setting
• Care for both neonatal and pediatric patients depending on facility need
• Night shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) rotation required
• No on-call requirements
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy specialty
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Level 3 or higher NICU or minimum 1 year PICU experience
• RRT, BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications required
• PALS certification preferred
• State license required if applicable
• Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric respiratory equipment including Bubble CPAP, CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BIPAP, and IMV/SIMV
• Skills in oxygen therapy, ventilator management, and airway management devices including intubation assist and extubation
• Experience with tracheostomy care and pulmonary hygiene

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a differential rate
• Responsibilities include medication delivery via aerosol setups and administration of medications such as Albuterol, Nitric Oxide, and Pulmicort
• Provide care for infants and children with Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal intubation as needed
• Manage high frequency jet ventilators and oscillating ventilators
• Troubleshoot ventilator alarms and support weaning from mechanical ventilation
• RTO requests must be submitted and approved prior to assignment start, as block scheduling cannot be accommodated
