Job Requirements

Education Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field from an accredited institution.

Certifications Requirements:

  • Georgia Respiratory License.
  • NBRC (RRT or CRT certification).
  • BLS certification.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Experience with intubations and assisting with intubations.
  • Experience with CPR and codes for infants to adults.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently in a rural hospital setting.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a).
  • Physical ability to perform essential duties, including emergency procedures.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide critical respiratory therapy assessments and interventions independently in a rural hospital environment.
  • Collaborate with medical teams to assist with intubations and other airway management procedures.
  • Maintain and operate respiratory equipment in compliance with hospital policies and safety standards.
  • Document all patient interactions, treatments, and responses accurately in the EMR.
  • Execute emergency procedures such as CPR and codes for patients of all ages.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust therapy plans as needed under minimal supervision.
  • Assist in training hospital staff on respiratory procedures and equipment.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed during patient care activities.
  • Participate in ongoing training and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
