We are seeking a highly skilled RNFA for a contract position in the Operating Room at a leading healthcare facility in Rochester, NY. As an RN First Assistant (RNFA), you will collaborate with surgeons and the healthcare team to ensure safe operations and optimal patient outcomes. Your expertise in perioperative nursing will be essential in this role.

The RNFA must possess a CNOR certification and have completed an accredited RNFA program through a college or university. You will practice in collaboration with and at the direction of the surgeon during the operative phase of the perioperative experience. Additionally, you will perform the duties of an OR staff RN when not assigned to the RNFA role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes during operations.
• Practice perioperative nursing with the necessary knowledge, skill, and judgment specific to the operating room.
• Perform duties as an OR staff RN when not in the RNFA role.
• Participate in evening call and rotating holiday requirements.

Job Requirements:

• Current NY Registered Professional Nurse License.
• Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant course.
• Robotic surgery experience is preferred, including:
  • Robotic Urology
  • Robotic GYN
  • Robotic Colorectal
  • Robotic Surgical Oncology (whipples, gastrectomies, hernias)
  • Robotic Thoracic
  • Robotic General Surgery (gall bladders, appendectomies)
• CNOR certification is required.
• Two years of OR experience in a Level 1 trauma center is preferred.

Certifications:

• BLS from the American Heart Association is required.
• ACLS from the American Heart Association is preferred.
• CNOR Certification is required.
