Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Inpatient Rehab RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring a TX or compact RN license and at least one year of inpatient rehab experience.

Details

• 24-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit
• Day shift team includes 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 PCTs, OT/PT/ST, and a case manager; night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, and 2 PCTs
• Patient to nurse ratio of 1:6
• Uses Hill-Rom beds and the Expanse EMR system
• Patients receive PT/OT/ST for a total of 3 hours daily
• Patients may receive dialysis, blood administration, IVP medications, and remote telemetry monitoring
• No bedside surgical procedures performed on the unit
• Shift schedule is 7a-7p with every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required to Med/Surg or Med/Surg Tele units as needed

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Completion of a cardiac arrhythmia review test required
• Minimum of one year of recent inpatient or rehab nursing experience required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Medical/Telemetry or higher acuity experience preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Collaborate closely with therapy departments to support patient rehabilitation goals
• Encourage patient independence while maintaining a safe care environment
• Follow standard inpatient guidelines including fall precautions, HAI prevention, isolation protocols, and care experience standards
• Scrub attire required in royal blue
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
