Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Inpatient Rehab RN for a night shift position requiring transfer training and EMR proficiency on a specialized 15-bed unit.

Details

  • Inpatient Rehab unit with 15 beds and capacity for 15 patients
  • Staffing includes 1 charge nurse (full patient load), 2 RNs, and 1 CNA per shift
  • Patient ratio of 5:1, maximum 6:1
  • Uses vital signs machines, transfer equipment (Hoyer lift, sliding boards), EKG, and bladder scanner
  • EMR systems include Meditech and Pyxis
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Every other weekend and holiday shifts required
  • Floating required to Med-Surg, Tele, Renal, Urology, Orthopedic, and Overflow units between two hospital campuses (excludes ICU)
  • On-call required only occasionally during low hospital census

Requirements

  • Active RN license (TX or compact) required
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in rehab nursing
  • Transfer training experience required
  • EMR proficiency required
  • Rehab experience and rehab scoring documentation experience preferred
  • No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
  • One professional reference required

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include patient transfers, bladder scans, dressing changes, and medication administration
  • Follows bedside report/handoff, hourly rounding, and bed alarm activation protocols
  • Ideal candidates demonstrate strong teamwork and initiative
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
