Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg/Nephrology RN with Med/Surg and Stepdown experience and current OK or compact RN license for a 12-hour day shift assignment.

Details

  • Hospital-based Medicine/Nephrology unit
  • Cares for a variety of patients ranging from simple to complex health needs
  • Requires knowledge of central line care and management, foley care and management, and end-of-life care
  • Must know proper dialysis site care, including avoiding use of HD catheters or accessing fistulas for blood draws
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts per week, 36 hours weekly

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact eNLC)
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
  • Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
  • Charge nurse experience strongly preferred
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors

Additional Information

  • Provides direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients, including medication administration and IV/blood product management
  • Documents patient responses to interventions and treatments and communicates changes to physicians
  • Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
  • Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning
  • Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
  • Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines; candidates must complete onboarding requirements promptly
  • Returning workers may only extend a contract once for a maximum of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
