Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Nephrology/Med-Surg position requiring NM or compact RN licensure and Med/Surg experience.

Details

  • Nephrology unit functioning as an extension of Med/Surg services
  • 24-bed unit serving geriatric and adult patients
  • Common diagnoses include ESRD, peritoneal dialysis, and hemodialysis
  • Patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6
  • Uses VS machines, bladder scanners, lifts, thermal imaging, and IV pumps/tubes
  • Charts in Cerner EHR
  • Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Weekend work required at least 2 shifts per month per facility policy
  • Floating required as needed per facility needs
  • No call requirements

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NM or compact) required
  • BLS certification required (must be AHA)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required, 2 years preferred
  • ADN required
  • Med/Surg experience required
  • Charge Nurse and Nephrology experience preferred but not required
  • Observation Unit experience a plus
  • Must score at least 3.2 overall rating on skills checklist

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care within a Level III trauma center that receives Trauma Level I, II, and III cases via air transport
  • Facility offers 198 beds with medical, surgical, rehabilitation, childbirth, cancer, pediatric, and behavioral health services
  • Work alongside Nephrology/Med-Surg unit supervised by the unit's RN leadership
