The Registered Nurse in the Mother Baby/Nursery unit provides specialized nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns. This role involves monitoring patient conditions, administering treatments, and supporting families during the postpartum and newborn care process.

Shift Time: Start Time: 07:00 PM End Time: 07:00 AM
Duration: 13 Weeks

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse in the Mother Baby/Nursery unit provides specialized nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns. This role involves monitoring patient conditions, administering treatments, and supporting families during the postpartum and newborn care process.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to high-risk antepartum patients and postpartum recoveries.
• Care for newborns in the nursery, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Perform procedures such as IV placement as required by unit protocols.
• Utilize documentation systems, such as Meditech, to accurately record patient information.
• Adhere to floating policies and assist in other areas as needed.
• Maintain patient experience standards by delivering compassionate and respectful care.

Qualifications

Specific Educational/Vocational Requirements

• Active RN license (temporary licenses not accepted).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years hospital experience.
• AWHONN
• ACLS

Job Skills

• Experience in newborn nursery care and postpartum nursing.
• Ability to care for high-risk antepartum patients.
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system preferred.
• Advanced fetal monitoring and RNC-OB certifications are a plus but not required.
