Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Strong patient assessment, clinical judgment, communication, and care coordination skills
• Orthopedic surgical care experience strongly preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and complete the full travel nursing contract

Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
• Provide direct nursing care to patients in medical-surgical and joint care settings
• Monitor patient progress and promptly identify and communicate changes in condition
• Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Supervise and support Licensed Practical Nurses and non-licensed support personnel
• Promote patient safety, positive clinical outcomes, and an exceptional patient experience
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and practice in accordance with healthcare standards, policies, and procedures
