Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift renal-focused unit requiring at least 1 year of experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

  • Renal Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting
  • Adult to geriatric patient population
  • Patient ratio of 1:5-6 on a 49-bed unit with an average daily census of 48
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
  • Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
  • Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Experience with renal failure and pre/post hemodialysis management preferred
  • Skills in respiratory care, IV therapy, wound care, and cardiac monitoring preferred
  • Navy blue scrubs required

Additional Information

  • Responsible for performing own vital sign checks and blood glucose checks
  • First-time travelers are accepted though charge experience is requested
  • Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays occurring during the assignment
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized prior to submission
  • No RTO permitted during orientation week
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Former Piedmont permanent, PRN, or internal staff must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
  • Travelers who were previously cancelled or deemed not returnable must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
