Job Summary:
Lactation Specialist in the area's healthcare organization. This position involves providing clinical lactation support, education, and breastfeeding instructions to diverse patient populations. The role requires collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to promote breastfeeding and postpartum care within a dynamic outpatient or inpatient setting.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week, starting on 10/06/2026 and ending on 01/05/2027.
- Required Qualifications: CA Registered Nurse (RN) license, BSN degree, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, IBCLC certification, minimum 1 year of experience in lactation support or postpartum care, experience with postpartum patient education and lactation protocols.
- Certifications: BLS, IBCLC.
- Additional Information: Experience with postpartum patients, breast feeding instructions, baby-friendly protocols, breast milk collection and storage, postpartum hemorrhage management, pregnancy-induced hypertension, infant identification, PPE and isolation precautions, and use of electric/manual breast pumps preferred. Flexibility to float to other facilities as needed; resources may be reassigned within a 75+ mile radius to ensure optimal coverage.
- Travel Experience Required: No.
- Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Adolescents, Infants, Adults.
- Patient Census: 23 patients daily, approximately 8 visits per day.
- Number of Rooms: 24.
- Number of Beds: 21.
- Interdisciplinary Support & Unit Details: Supportive environment with a focus on postpartum and lactation services, utilizing Epic for charting.
- Additional Notes: Modules are non-billable; scheduled pre-start and annual training may be required.
