Job Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years of ICU nursing experience required
- Active Texas RN license required; temporary license not accepted
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification required
- Strong critical thinking skills and comfort working in a high-acuity ICU environment
- Experience with MICU/MSICU preferred
- IABP and CRRT exposure preferred
- Meditech experience preferred
- Ability to float as needed in the acute care hospital setting
- Professional presentation and adherence to unit dress code and attendance policies
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to ICU patients with complex and changing needs
- Monitor patient status, assess changes, and respond quickly to clinical concerns in a critical care setting
- Perform and assist with ICU procedures such as chest tubes, intubations, central lines, art lines, NG tubes, Foley catheters, dressing changes, and GI scopes
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support safe, effective patient care
- Document accurately in the EMR and maintain timely charting practices
- Follow unit guidelines, including badge-in/badge-out procedures and full lunch break compliance
- Maintain punctuality and reliability for all scheduled shifts
