Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Float Pool ICU position requiring floating to ER, ICU, PCU, and Med Surg units with a State of ID or compact RN license.
Details
- Nursing Resource Team (NRT) float pool position covering ER, ICU, PCU, and Med Surg units within an acute care, Level II trauma hospital
- 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
- May float mid-shift as needed based on hospital demand
- Schedule provided consistently in advance, with unit assignment communicated 2 hours prior to shift start
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: ICU 1:1-2, Med/Surg & ED boarded Med/Surg 1:5-6, PCU 1:3-4
- Units range from 21-35 beds depending on assignment
- Uses EPIC EMR system
Requirements
- Active RN license from the State of Idaho or compact license required
- Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program (BSN or ASN accepted, BSN preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience within the last 2 years at a Level I or Level II trauma facility required
- Prior experience working in or floating to PCU and Med Surg with comfort in associated ratios required
- Prior experience working in or floating to ER, including taking a true ER patient assignment, required
- Experience with cardiac drips required
- Experience with non-invasive ventilation required
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Department of Health & Welfare background fingerprinting required
Additional Information
- Serves as a member of the hospital-wide Nursing Resource Team, delivering care across multiple units and patient populations
- Provides relationship-based, patient- and family-centered care in accordance with the Idaho Nurse Practice Act
- Collaborates within inter-professional teams to support quality patient outcomes and shared decision-making
- Integrates evidence-based practice and utilizes data to monitor and improve care processes
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for this position
- 12 hours of non-billable orientation required before starting the assignment
